The uneven edges, faded colour and small abrasions across this leaf are the accumulated marks of time rather than the result of any single event. Bringing its front and back together makes those differences more apparent, while the overall form of the leaf remains clearly recognisable.

What interested me here was the gradual change that builds up through a lifetime. Some of its effects are readily visible and others less so, but together they become part of what we are now.

The Experience triptych in Silent Selves ends with Weathered. After the decisive changes suggested by Divergence and Rupture, it shifts attention to the slower effects that accumulate over time.

Print– Limited edition of 12, plus 2 Artist Proofs retained by the artist. 70 × 85 cm overall (27.6 × 33.5 in), with a 60 × 75 cm image area (23.6 × 29.5 in) and a 5 cm (2 in) white border.

Quality –Archival giclée print on museum-grade Ilford Cotton Rag Textured paper.
