The two surfaces in Divergence remain closely aligned, but the stem turns sharply away from its earlier direction. That change of course is unmistakable, even though the leaf itself has not broken apart.

I was thinking here about experiences that redirect a life without dividing it into a before and after. The new direction does not erase what came earlier; it becomes part of the same continuing form.

Divergence is the starting point for the Experience triptych in Silent Selves. Its unbroken turn introduces change as redirection before Rupture and Weathered‍ ‍consider more abrupt and more gradual forms of alteration.

Edition Details

Print– Limited edition of 12, plus 2 Artist Proofs retained by the artist. 70 × 85 cm overall (27.6 × 33.5 in), with a 60 × 75 cm image area (23.6 × 29.5 in) and a 5 cm (2 in) white border.

Quality –Archival giclée print on museum-grade Ilford Cotton Rag Textured paper.
