In Resonance, the front and back of the same leaf overlap. Differences in colour and texture remain visible, but the veins and contours also show how closely the two surfaces correspond. Bringing them together creates a more complex form than either would make alone.

I was interested in the point where outward appearance and less visible structure stop reading as separate ideas. Neither surface cancels the other, and neither provides a complete account of the leaf on its own.

As the transitional work in the Identity triptych, Resonance brings the outward emphasis of Persona into contact with the underlying structure explored in Essence. Its place within Silent Selves reflects the series' broader interest in what emerges when visible and less visible aspects are considered together.

Edition Details

Print– Limited edition of 12, plus 2 Artist Proofs retained by the artist. 70 × 85 cm overall (27.6 × 33.5 in), with a 60 × 75 cm image area (23.6 × 29.5 in) and a 5 cm (2 in) white border.

Quality –Archival giclée print on museum-grade Ilford Cotton Rag Textured paper. Each work carries a digital artist signature and edition number in the lower right margin, produced as a 100% carbon-neutral print, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity and a signed artist’s letter referencing the work within the Silent Selves series.

Framing – Supplied unframed. The integrated white border allows for flexible framing or float mounting.
